MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – June 18, 2012 5:15 PM

Wayne Carr discussed culverts and gutter sweeper. Also, chip sealing and present work of DPW. Beetle Road will have to be closed for a few hours.
Wayne informed the Selectmen that he will be on vacation for the next 2 ½ weeks. Wayne was asked about a “plan of work” and a plan for the DPW crew while on vacation.
Ken from PDS was contacted on the necessary repairs at the Public Safety Complex. It was stated that DPW picked up the air conditioner to be place at the library and new flag poles and flags.
Line painting will be scheduled after the receipt of the Chapter 90 funds. Wayne was asked if they could paint the lines on route 57 where it has been repaved now.
Discussed the grader class that the DPW staff attended and the age of the present grader.
Joanne Duval, Transfer Station Administrator informed the Select board of a complaint regarding a permit holder using the transfer station without their permit being attached to their vehicle and not using the current system of tags or bags. How should this issue be handled in the future? Joann suggests two forms; one with rules and one for Jeff to use to fill out to report the issue to the Select board.
Discussed a trac phone for the transfer station. Margaret will call Verizon and check on the cost of a phone for the transfer station with TTY equipment.
Public Safety Complex – Small jobs need to be done. Should the town hire a person to do small projects (retiree, high school or part time handyman). Position will be discussed at the next Selectmen’s meeting on Monday,
June 25, 2012.
The Board of Selectmen will place the discussion of the Town Hall hours and the Administrative Assistants responsibilities on the June 25th agenda.
Frank Fazi discussed the property owned by Mr. Lodovico in regards to unregistered vehicles and automobile parts located on his property. WPOA is trying to work with the town. Frank presented the board with Tolland’s Junk Car Bylaw.
